Prayer to the Holy Spirit for Help

(from the Mental Health Ministry of Diocese of Orange)

Holy Spirit, kindle in me the fire of your love.
Help me to know and to feel that I am loved.
Help me to remember that I am connected to You and to others and to this earth.
Help me to live that truth and to share it with others.
Help me to know my gifts and also what delights me.
Help me to take off the armor I have put on to protect myself from anger, sadness, fear, and unworthiness. Amen

Prayer for a sick child:

Dear God,

I love this little one with my whole heart, and I know that you do too.

Please help us both to remember that
even though we can’t see you with our eyes, we can feel you with our hearts.

Please take away any pain or fear that they may be feeling. Bring them healing and comfort.

May they know how loved they are by You, and by me, and by all our family and friends.

Amen

A parent’s prayer for strength in desperate times

Lord Jesus Christ, help me to remember to be gentle and kind. Help me to know what to say. What to do. Fill my heart with healing love, understanding, and empathy.

Give me the strength of a thousand angels to hold back my tears. My heart is broken and a tidal wave of grief is overwhelming me with the need to cry. Give me the strength to bear it long enough to keep it from disturbing my child. Help me find someone I can safely bring it to.

Amen.

A prayer for the medical staff:

God, source of all life,
Bless those who dedicate their lives to health and healing.
Watch over them
Bless their minds and hands, their hearts and bodies to have the wherewithal and compassion for each patient that seeks their tender loving care.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
